Use of Social Media to Promote your Dance Studio!

Are you a dance studio owner? Do you use social media to promote your studio?

I hope that all dance studio owners use social media to promote their studio. From Facebook to Instagram to having your own website. Social media can be a fun way to keep your students and parents engaged in your business when they are not at the studio. It is a great way to share achievements from your tiniest dancer and their first dance class ever, to your senior going off to college. Parents love to share posts about their child, so each time you post about a dancer there is a good chance that parent could share it. And what happens when a parent shares one of your posts? People outside of your followers will see it. This can increase business for free.

You can pay for social media ads as well. I only recommend that when you are gearing up for summer or a new season, or are offering something new. This could be a new class, new time offering, or an exciting new teacher. Be sure to use the location option as well. This can make sure that even if someone does not like or follow your page, they will still see this add if they are a reasonable distance away.

There are so many different ways to use social media to promote your business, but one of the worst ways is by using low quality content that your customers cannot relate to or images that look grainy and blurry. When you post you want to grab their attention, enough for them to share it on their own page. When you find random pictures off google and add font to them, people can tell. Take the extra time and use a high quality program to edit photos and font. If you do not have the time offer or money to hire someone offer volunteer hours to high school or college students. There are always people looking to add social media experience to their resume.

Double check with parents before posting dancers on your dance studios social media or include signed waivers. The signed waivers can state whether their child can be photographed or videoed while in class. Giving the parent the option to have their dancer to be in photos/videos and then the option to be in photos/videos that can be used for social media, ads, etc. Some families are not comfortable with their children on social media and we want to be sure to respect their needs.
